Hollowen Celebration In The Philippines
Most of the people who are staying in Manila taking their holidays starting October 30..Everybody is busy cleaning and painting the grave. This is also the time to visit the family and relatives. Expect all the memorial parks and public cemetery are full of people. The vendors are busy selling flowers and candles.
The older people usually do the
traditional stuff like praying for the dead and putting candles outside
of their house. That is for their dead relatives so that they can
find their way back to their house. But the young people have a big dance party and they all get drunk and do crazy stuff
like that and they paint themselves and put masks on and try to scare
people. Filipinos do celebration is November 1st & 2nd, "All Saints Day and
All Souls Day respectively. They cook good food during this times for
all the family. They go to church to pray for all their love ones, who
passed away and then go to the cemetery to offer some food, prayer, and
light a candle on the graveyard. Some even go house to house to visit some
relatives, families and friends. Some even throw a party in
thanksgiving. Only rich kids in a subdivision goes to trick or treat then they would give all their goodies to the maids and drivers.
