Spring signifies the emergence of new life. Spring month are the blossoming months that bring meaningful growth and rejuvenation in its wake. Spring enriches natural beauty and its seems as if nature is dressed in a beautiful green gown. Flowers start to bloom gardens get planted people spending their weekends doing yard work and gardening is such a refreshing sight to see after a long cold winter. Knowing that you have planted veggies yourself that you will be
able to enjoy throughout the summer months is simply amazing, healthy
& yummy! Spring is the beginning of the warmer season of the year. This is the season where people have more getting together that takes outside as well as having an increase in barbecues and events that span across towns. It is one of the more popular moments in the year where people can travel from location to location just to have fun.
Spring technically begins on March 21st and ends June 21st. Since the earth is shifting from very cold weather to warmer weather, the atmosphere tends to be more unstable during spring. Severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and flooding are likely during the
spring. It is important to
understand the difference between watches and warnings. A watch means
that conditions are present for severe weather to occur, while a warning
means that severe weather is currently happening.

New Year's Eve Belief and Tradition In The Philippines
Most Filipinos also follow a
traditional belief that if the family spends at least the approach of
midnight together, then the family will stay together for the entire year.
Filipinos go all out to make a big noise on New Year’s Eve. Filipino firecrackers come in so many shapes and go by very interesting names like Judas Belt (a string of firecrackers). The noise and the firecrackers are believed to drive the evil spirit away and make the New Year happy and blessed.
Children love scratching the dancing firecracker (Watusi) against concrete sidewalks and cemented surfaces, although the government has been warning against it because of chemical poisoning. Cars and trucks are starts and horns to cause as much noise as possible. Empty cans are dragged all around, whistles are blown. Before the clock strikes midnight to herald in the new year, all doors must be left wide open to allow good luck to enter. This includes cupboards, drawers, cabinets and windows.Special foods is prepared, but not like the on Christmas Eve, although some families might be wealthy enough to prepare a roasted pig. For sure, rice noodles are cooked to signify long life, as are eggs signifying new life. Traditional delicacies made from glutinous or sticky rice are prepared that’s so good fortune will stick around throughout the year. Part of this are the twelve kinds of round fruits in the table symbolize abundance through out the year. Fish and chicken are not served because these animals scrounge for food, and we don’t want to have to scrounge for food in the coming year.

Are children really better in foreign language learning?
Learning a foreign language is easier if you are exposed to it when you are young. Pronunciation is stronger in children. The younger the learner the better. Learning foreign languages is not difficult nowadays because children today are good at using technology, they are able to learn a new language more quickly using the technology. However, recent studies indicate that the best time for a
child to learn another language is in the first three to four years of
life that is according to the expert. Language learning is natural in children. They can recognize easily the pictures especially their favorite cartoon characters. A child can learn another language faster/better than an adult because they have better hearing. It has long been known that there is a strong link between language, music
and other developmental skills, such as math and logical thinking. Children who are exposed to music and/or language training show measurable
improvements in other cognitive skills. Researchers believe that early
language exposure actually increases the size and power of a child's brain. It is clear that children have good linguistic capacity in their early age.

Matthew 10:28 (king James Version)
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) We need not be in dread of Satan or his human agents. True, some may have the power to cause harm, even death. However, the worst they can do is still only temporary. Jesus can and will undo any damage done to his faithful servants, even resurrecting them. It is Jesus alone who is worthy of our fear, our profound awe and respect. He alone has the power to take away life and all prospects for future life.Because of the resurrection hope, we as God’s servants can always be sure that we are safe.
Having fear to God it means that we had a strong faith to him.Obviously, it is far more important to obey God then man. Obeying God when it's unpopular has less serious consequences then not obeying God, but following the popular crowd.

Hollowen Celebration In The Philippines
Hollowen Celebration In The Philippines
Most of the people who are staying in Manila taking their holidays starting October 30..Everybody is busy cleaning and painting the grave. This is also the time to visit the family and relatives. Expect all the memorial parks and public cemetery are full of people. The vendors are busy selling flowers and candles.
The older people usually do the traditional stuff like praying for the dead and putting candles outside of their house. That is for their dead relatives so that they can find their way back to their house. But the young people have a big dance party and they all get drunk and do crazy stuff like that and they paint themselves and put masks on and try to scare people. Filipinos do celebration is November 1st & 2nd, "All Saints Day and All Souls Day respectively. They cook good food during this times for all the family. They go to church to pray for all their love ones, who passed away and then go to the cemetery to offer some food, prayer, and light a candle on the graveyard. Some even go house to house to visit some relatives, families and friends. Some even throw a party in thanksgiving. Only rich kids in a subdivision goes to trick or treat then they would give all their goodies to the maids and drivers.

Summer time is fun and relaxing for many. There are lots of activities to do during this period. It is limited for three months (end of february - May). Many people go to provinces especially in Baguio City, the summer capital of the country. There are also few others similar high elevation destinations. Tagaytay City, and Antipolo City. Others would go to new places locally or abroad for those who can afford to travel. Students are officially on vacation. The right time for families to go on out of town trips. Malls experiences heavier flow of people to escape the heat. Swimming is always on top of the list of activities. Philippines is lucky for natural resources abundance of world class beaches and private resorts in affordable price. May is the merriest and beautiful month of this season. For the month of May we celebrated flower festival. The roman catholic church traditionally celebrates, flores de mayo and santacruzan.(spanish term)
Flowers are offered to Virgin Mary. Young girls ages 6-12 years old dressed in white, cut flowers and basket of cut petals sprinkle while walking and singing to the altar. They leave the cut flower in the altar every afternoon for nine days consecutive. The procession of santacruzan is the final part of the festival of flores de mayo. This is in honour of Queen Helena. The one who searched for the holy cross in Jerusalem. In the year A.D. It is more parade than a religious procession. Beautiful young women with appropriate costumes portray biblical and historical characters. The person in the parade represent queens from the past. Catholic Tradition In Southern Luzon
Festivities
starts on Palm Sunday when everyone goes to church with palm leaves,
listens to the mass, and prepares for a week-long celebration after
that. Then comes Monday until Wednesday, We go to the office, and we do
our regular chores, but in a more solemn manner. Loud music is out of
the question, drinking and going to bars are- definitely a no-no... This
is the time to reflect and to do fasting. This is the perfect time to
forgive and forget.
On Maundy Thursday, Filipinos will attend the mass and pray together as we remember the day Christ started suffering for our sins. Catholics observe the Stations of the Cross, and it has been their tradition to visit as many churches as they can by walking. Others will just be in their respective homes as they sing from the book called Passion.
Good Friday is when you can see penitents who reenact how Jesus was nailed in the cross by putting on barbed wires as their crowns, and walking down the streets carrying a cross that weights a ton. On Black Saturday, to commemorate when Jesus is still dead, Filipinos still continue with the fasting to somehow suffer for what He did for us. And as soon as sunrise hits on Easter Sunday, Filipinos go to church together, and celebrate as Christ has risen from death. The Resurrection is now here. So we rejoice in that day, and we have somehow adopted westernized culture. We now have Easter egg hunting on this memorable day.

My First Winter In Canada
My First Winter In Canada
Living in a tropical
country, we always dreamed of seeing and feeling the winter. How nice it would
be to live in a country with four seasons, not just rain and summer. I
heard from my classmate who lives in Vancouver that Saskatchewan has one
of the most extreme temperatures in Canada, from -40 to -60 degrees with the
windchill.
My classmate also told
me to get a nice jacket because there are about five months to suffer of the
cold weather.
I can't believe that I
am actually here. How long I have been dreaming of coming to Canada. The
long wait is over and I am actually here! The wide streets, the quiet
neighbourhoods, and the houses that are almost alike and painted mostly with
earthy tones.it seems every house is new, the spacing of their houses so evenly
distributed, the clean streets and yards, the smell of the grass, and no
traffic and horns to be heard. It’s incredible! Everything is new! And I was excited
to explore more than what I had seen at that moment.
Months passed. I’m adjusting
to the new culture, new house, new friends, new work, new directions, and new
bus schedules. For newcomers who don't know anyone and feel lonely, you could
just block your loneliness for hours and indulge in books. But then, I was
getting excited waiting for winter. I heard people complaining that winter was coming.
My cousin always told me to make myself practice driving. Winter was fast approaching,
and it is so hard to catch the bus outside.
One day my cousin
called her husband to drive her to work because it was snowing heavily outside.
It was October 30, 2010.It was the first time I saw the snow. When the
snow stopped falling, my cousin told me to go outside. Wear your winter
jacket, bonnet, gloves, and boots! We are going to shovel the driveway. I
was so excited to step on the cottonlike snow. I was amazed to see how God
really created a beautiful world to live in. I saw the snow in each flake. It
was beautiful! Amazing how He created the snow with a crystal spider-like form.
What was God thinking?! Why does He need to create this kind of form when He could
have only created plain white balls as snow? Oh, how lucky these people are
that they could experience winter and the other seasons while in my own country
there are lots of calamities of nature that cause great and often sudden damage.
Now, I was stepping on
the snow like cotton candy. They’re drifting away one by one. It was a dream
come true.

Oh, how lucky these people are that they could experience winter and the other seasons. While in my own country lots of calamities,Flood, typhoon,
Now, I was stepping on the snow like cotton-candy, they're drifting away one by one. It was a dream come true.

What I Saw This Morning
I woke up early this morning to review for my midterm exam in nutrition.
I called a cab to go to school because it was a little bit windy.
